The 2027 Trade Show Calendar for Metal Roofers and Fabricators

Five shows matter to most metal roofers and fabricators in 2027: the International Roofing Expo in Las Vegas in February, the NFBA Frame Building Expo the week before it, the Post Frame Builder Show in June, the Construction Rollforming Show in Cincinnati in October and METALCON in Louisville at the end of October. Here are the dates we have confirmed, what each show is for, and a plain way to budget the trips so they pay for themselves.

Each show has its own page on our trade show calendar and we update those pages as organizers confirm details. Where we say provisional or to be confirmed, it means exactly that: we found one source or none, and we would rather tell you than guess.

International Roofing Expo, Las Vegas, February 16 to 18

The IRE is the big general roofing show in North America, produced by Informa Markets and co-located with the National Roofing Contractors Association’s annual convention. In 2027 it is at the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall. Metal is one aisle among many here, which is both the weakness and the strength. You will not see as deep a bench of roll former builders or seamer makers as at METALCON, but you will see the fastener, underlayment, safety, software and equipment vendors who serve the whole roofing trade, and you can benchmark your business against shingle and low-slope contractors who may be further along on sales process and estimating tools than you are.

Who should go: owners and sales managers. If you run a residential metal company that also does shingles, this is your show.

NFBA Frame Building Expo, February 8 to 10, Columbus

The National Frame Building Association’s expo is the post-frame builders’ show. The association has confirmed February 8 to 10, 2027, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus, Ohio, and our event page has the details. If you sell or install exposed-fastener panels for barns, shops and rural buildings, or you want to, the post-frame world is where that work is. Twenty-nine gauge ag panel is still the bread and butter here, with 26 gauge where the owner wants a heavier panel.

Who should go: anyone chasing ag and rural work, and panel shops that supply post-frame builders.

Post Frame Builder Show, South Bend, June 2027

Shield Wall Media runs this one, and in 2027 it is slated for South Bend, Indiana, in June, with exact dates still to be confirmed. In our view it is a smaller, more focused event than the NFBA expo, and it draws the working builder more than the corporate buyer. For a metal roofer it is a good place to meet post-frame crews who subcontract roofing and trim, and to see the panel and trim suppliers who serve them. Details are on our Post Frame Builder Show page.

Construction Rollforming Show, Cincinnati, October 6 to 7

This is the show for anyone who owns or wants to own a roll former, runs a panel shop, or buys coil by the ton. Also produced by Shield Wall Media, publisher of Rollforming Magazine, it moves to Cincinnati for 2027 after the September 16 to 17, 2026 edition in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The 2027 venue is the First Financial Center, formerly the Duke Energy Convention Center. Expect roll former builders, decoilers and run-out tables, slitters and trim equipment, coil suppliers and the software and consumables that go with them. It is the one show where the equipment on the floor is the point. Our event page has the details.

Who should go: fabricators, panel shop managers, and installers weighing an on-site roll former. If that is you, read our roll former buying guide first so you walk in with a profile list and questions.

METALCON 2027, October 26 to 28, Louisville

METALCON is the national show devoted to metal construction, roofing and wall panels included. The 2026 show in Orlando was the 35th edition. The 2027 show runs October 26 to 28 at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, about three weeks after the Rollforming Show, and our METALCON 2027 page has the details. Our recap of the 2026 show explains why we think the education program is the reason to go.

How to budget a show trip

Shows are expensive in ways that do not show up on the registration invoice. Build the budget in these buckets and the trip stops being a guess:

  • Registration and any paid classes or workshops. Early registration usually costs less, so decide by the fall of the year before.
  • Travel: flights or fuel, parking and ground transportation. Driving a truck lets you bring samples home; flying saves days.
  • Lodging and meals for each person, for the nights of the show plus travel days. Hotel blocks near the convention center fill early.
  • Lost production. Every person you send is a person not on a roof. Price those days at what the crew bills, not what you pay them.
  • Follow-up time. Leads and vendor contacts are worthless if nobody calls them. Block the week after the show for it.

Then set a goal that justifies the number. One specific machine decision, one new supplier relationship, one trained crew lead, one new product line. If you cannot name the goal, send one person instead of four, or skip the year.

If you can only go to one

Our view: installers who do mostly residential standing seam get the most from METALCON. Contractors who do metal alongside shingles get the most from the IRE. Fabricators and panel shops should be in Cincinnati in October. Post-frame crews already know which of the two frame-building shows fits their calendar. Whichever you pick, make sure your company listing is current before you go, because the suppliers you meet will look you up.
