Find a Metal Roofer hosts content posted by its users, including listing text, logos and photos. We respect copyright and respond to notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). This page explains how to send a takedown notice, how a user can respond with a counter-notice, and where to reach our designated agent.
1. Sending a takedown notice
If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or represent, send a written notice to our designated agent containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, or a representative list if there are several.
- The exact web address of the material on our site, so we can find it.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.
2. Designated agent
Send notices to: our DMCA agent through the contact page, with DMCA in the first line of the message. Our agent registration with the U.S. Copyright Office is listed in the DMCA designated agent directory (owner to complete). Please use this address only for copyright notices; other complaints are faster through the contact page.
3. What we do with a valid notice
When we receive a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the user who posted it, giving them a copy of the notice. We keep a record of notices. Users who repeatedly post infringing material have their accounts closed, and a listing built on other people’s photos may be removed under our listing guidelines.
4. Counter-notice
If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or that you have the right to use it, you may send a counter-notice to the same agent containing: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material and where it appeared before removal; a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; your name, address and telephone number; and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the United States, for the district where we are located) and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We forward the counter-notice to that person. If they do not tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving your counter-notice.
5. False claims
The law provides that anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can be liable for damages, including the other side’s costs and legal fees. Make sure you have the rights you claim before sending a notice or counter-notice. If you are not sure whether a use is infringing, consider talking to a lawyer first.
6. Other complaints
This process is only for copyright. A listing with wrong information, a review you disagree with, a trademark concern or a privacy request should go through the report link on the page concerned or the contact page. Our terms of use explain how we handle content more generally.
