These are the terms for using findametalroofer.com. We wrote them in plain English because we would rather you read them than scroll past them. By using the site or creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover
Find a Metal Roofer is a free online directory of metal roofing companies with homeowner reviews and educational content. It is operated by the publisher of Find a Metal Roofer, referred to here as we, us or the site. These terms cover the website at findametalroofer.com, the directory, accounts, listings, reviews, the newsletter and everything else we publish. Our privacy policy, review guidelines, listing guidelines and copyright notice are part of these terms.
2. Accounts
You need a free account to write a review or to add, claim or manage a listing. You must be at least 16 years old to register. Give us accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your login. One person, one account. If you register as a pro, you confirm that you are authorized to represent the business you list. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the guidelines, and you may close yours at any time by contacting us.
3. Your content and the license you give us
Your content means anything you post or send: reviews, ratings, owner responses, listing text, logos, photos, videos and messages. You keep ownership of it. By posting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display, reformat, excerpt and distribute it on the site, in our feeds and newsletter, and in material that describes the site, for as long as the content is on the site and for a reasonable time afterward in backups. You confirm that you have the right to post it, including the right to use any photo or logo, and that it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the guidelines, and we are not obliged to publish anything.
Your content is public once published. Search engines index it, and other people may quote or link to it. Choose a display name you are comfortable with.
4. Reviews
Reviews must describe your own first-hand experience as a customer of the company you review, and must follow the review guidelines. One review per person per company. Reviews are held for moderation and we decide what to publish. Listing owners may post a public response. Reviews are the opinions of the people who write them, not ours, and we do not verify the facts in them. If you believe a review about your company is false or breaks the guidelines, report it from the listing; we do not remove a review because it is negative.
5. Listings
Listings are free. New listings are held until we confirm they describe a real metal roofing business and follow the listing guidelines. The company is responsible for everything in its listing, including claims about licenses, insurance, certifications, service areas and warranties. We may categorize, format, geocode, edit for the guidelines or remove a listing. We also create listings from public business information so that homeowners have somewhere to start; a business may claim such a listing, and we transfer it once we confirm the business contact. The Verified label means only that we have confirmed the business contact. It is not a license check, an inspection, a certification or a recommendation.
6. We do not endorse listed companies
The directory is information, not a referral. We do not inspect anyone’s work, check licenses or insurance, screen criminal records or guarantee a result. A company’s presence in the directory, its rating, its Verified label, a featured placement or a Diamond, Ruby or Emerald Sponsor place is not a recommendation by us. Any estimate, contract, payment or dispute is between you and the company. Before hiring anyone, confirm their license and insurance yourself, get a written contract and a permit where required, and compare at least three bids. We are not a party to your agreement with a listed company and we are not responsible for its work, its conduct or its communications.
7. Educational content is general information
Our guides, blog posts, news summaries, glossary, show calendar and market updates are general information for a national audience. They are not engineering, legal, insurance, tax or financial advice, and they do not replace your building code, your contractor or your insurer. Prices in our guides are broad, approximate national ranges that vary by region, pitch, complexity, metal and time of year. Market figures come from third-party sources we name, may be delayed or revised, and are not investment advice. Check anything that matters to your project with a licensed professional in your area.
8. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Post false reviews, create listings for businesses you do not represent, or pretend to be someone else.
- Pay for, trade or filter reviews, or post reviews of your own company or a competitor.
- Copy, scrape or bulk-download listings, reviews or guides to build another directory, mailing list or dataset, by hand or by automated means.
- Use the site to send unsolicited marketing to listed companies or reviewers.
- Upload malware, probe or interfere with the site’s security, or try to get around moderation or rate limits.
- Harass, threaten or defame anyone, or post private information about another person.
- Create accounts automatically or hold more than one account.
9. Copyright and DMCA
We respect copyright and expect users to do the same. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, follow the process on our copyright notice page. We remove infringing material when properly notified, forward counter-notices as the law provides, and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
10. Our content
The site’s design, text, graphics, code and the way we have organized the directory belong to us or our licensors. You may link to any page, quote short excerpts with credit and a link, and print pages for your own use. You may not republish our guides or posts in full, build a competing directory from our data, remove our notices, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you. Listed companies may use the badge we provide to link to their own listing. Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under its open license.
11. Third-party links and services
The site links to company websites, news sources, show organizers and other outside sites, and it loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap servers. We do not control those sites or services and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. Their terms apply when you use them.
12. No warranty
We try to keep the site accurate, available and free of errors, but we cannot promise it. The site and everything on it are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and uninterrupted availability. Listings and reviews are written by other people and may be wrong or out of date. We may change, suspend or shut down any part of the site at any time.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we and the people who run the site are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or the cost of substitute services, arising from your use of the site, from any content on it, or from your dealings with a listed company, even if we were told such damages were possible. Our total liability to you for all claims together is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for a free site is zero, or one hundred US dollars. Some states do not allow some of these limits; where that is the case, they apply to the extent permitted.
14. Your responsibility for your content
If your content or your breach of these terms leads to a claim against us, for example a copyright or defamation claim over something you posted, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
15. Ending accounts and removing content
You may stop using the site at any time and ask us to close your account through the contact page. We may suspend or close an account, or remove content, for breaking these terms or the guidelines, for legal reasons, or to protect the site and its users, and we will tell you why when we reasonably can. When an account is closed we remove its profile details; you may also ask us to remove the reviews you wrote. Sections 3, 6, 7, 10 and 12 through 16 survive the end of your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there instead. Before filing anything, please contact us; most problems are fixed by email.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we post a notice on the site or email account holders before the change takes effect. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
18. Contact
Questions about these terms go to through the contact page.
